Chocolate Revel Bars (Grandma Johnson)

a.k.a. The Best Cookies on the Planet!

Step one:
1 c margarine
2 c brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 1/2 c flour
2 tsp soda
1 tsp salt
3 c oats

Step two:
12 oz chocolate chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp salt
1 c nuts (optional)

Mix together all ingredients in step one, set aside. Melt chips, milk and butter. When smooth and nuts and vanilla. Spread 2/3 oatmeal mixture in bottom of 9x13 pan. Cover with chocolate mixture. Dot remaining oatmeal mixture on top. Bake at 350 deg for 20-30 min. (usually right around 25 min.) or until brown.

Grandma Johnson's Enchiladas

1 lb hamburger
onion
2 c grated cheese
1 pkg tortillas
1 can enchilada sauce, mild
1 can beef gravy
1 can tomato sauce

Cook meat and onion, add grated cheese. Heat enchilada sauce and beef gravy. Dip tortilla in sauce. Put meat misture in middle and roll up and put in pan. Pour rest of sauce over top. Put in oven 300 deg. until done. Can make day ahead, or freeze for later.

Applesauce Chocolate Chip Cookies (Grandma Black's)

1/2 c shortening
1 c sugar
1 egg
1 c applesauce
2 c flour
1 tsp cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp soda
raisins, nuts, chocolate chips (whatever you want)
Bake 400 deg for 10 min.

Funeral Potatoes (Grandma Johnson)

put a 2 lb pkg of thawed frozen hash brown potatoes in a 9x13 greased pan.
Mix 1 small onion, diced, 1 c cream of celery soup, 1 16oz Sour Cream, 1 cube butter melted, 2 c grated cheese, and a little milk.
Spread over hash browns. Top with 1/2 c grated cheese.
bake at 350 deg for 1/2 hr
