Banana Cake

1 c margarine or butter, softened
1/2 c buttermilk (can substitute with 1/2 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice plus enough milk to make 1/2 cup)
1 c mashed bananas (2 medium bananas)
1 c quick cooking rolled oats
1/2 tsp salt
6 oz choc. chips
1 c sugar
1 tsp vanilla
2 c flour
1 1/2 tsp soda
2 eggs
1/2 c nuts (optional)

Heat oven to 350 deg. Grease 9x13 pan. In large bowl, cream margarine, sugar, and eggs. Stir in buttermilk, bananas and vanilla; mixing well. Lightlyspoon flour into measurin cup, level off.
